LOCAL NEWS

Updated re-opening plans

As you are well aware, the district has revised their re-opening plans to comply with the governor’s executive order: https://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/reopening-plan/.  SJEA continues to meet with the district via the re-start task force. We have serious concerns about the safety of opening schools on August 10, and I have asked the school board to consider delaying the start of school until August 31. If you have concerns about the re-opening of schools, speak up! See below for information about the next school board meeting.

Concerned about the re-opening of schools? Speak up at Tuesday’s school board meeting

The St. Johns County School Board will be holding a meeting on Tuesday, July 14 at 9 a.m. in the virtual platform WebEx. If you would like to join this meeting please visit https://sjcsd.webex.com/sjcsd/onstage/g.php?MTID=e43f7c02833222cd9e3b099ea3aafe9e3 from a supported Android/Mac/Windows device and you will be entered as an attendee. If you would like to make public comment, please raise your hand by selecting the hand icon on your screen. The Board has set aside three different times for public comment: thirty minutes at the beginning of the meeting, again at the conclusion of the meeting, and prior to taking final action on an agenda item.

Are you registered to vote?
